Auto lock is a feature of the SDL- and Smart DL- locks that, if switched on, will automatically lock the door after if it has been opened. It is possible to change the time frame after which the door will lock after it has been opened.
Following is a guide as to how to set up and use auto-lock for the Smart DL and SDL- locks.
Enabling auto-lock using the TTLock application
To enable auto-lock, go to your TTLock application, turn auto-lock mode on and set the time period according to your requirements.
1.1 From the home page options, tap ‘Settings’.
1.2 Tap ‘Auto-lock’ and tap the button in the top right hand corner of the screen to switch auto-lock on.
1.3 Tap 'Custom' and select the number of seconds delay for auto-lock to activate after the door has been unlocked. You can choose from 5s, 10s, 15s, 30s, 60s or a custom number of seconds. Then tap 'Ok'.
1.4 Tap ‘Save’.
Having auto-lock on will not automatically engage the deadbolt. The only way to engage the deadbolt is to do it manually by lifting the handle up.
Switching auto-lock off
If auto-lock is switched to off you will have to manually lock the door so that the door cannot be opened from the outside. You can do this in a number of ways. One way of locking the door manually is to press and hold the large padlock icon on the home page of the TTLock application. Another way is to press and hold the # key on the lock. A third way is to lock the door with the key.
One option instead of turning auto-lock off is to turn passage mode on. This gives the option of setting the time period that the door is to remain open and the door will auto-lock at the end of this time period and outside of these hours.
When auto lock is switched off, you cannot lock the door by lifting the handle up. The deadbolt will still protract when you lift the handle up, but when you pull the handle down the door will open. The ONLY way to lock the door if auto-lock is switched off is by pressing and holding the # key or by pressing and holding the large padlock icon in the app.
