Door Sensors

A door sensor is a device that sticks to your door and directly connects via the TTLock app to the specific lock that is on your door. The biggest benefit of installing the door sensor is to know if the door is OPEN or CLOSED.

Case Example: You have Auto Lock turned ON, and you leave the DOOR OPEN by mistake

As auto lock is turned on, the lock will be LOCKED even if your door is OPEN.  Assume you are away from the lock and you check the log records in the TTLock App, it will tell you your lock is LOCKED but doesn't tell you your door is OPEN. However, you have the sensor installed on the door, the app will tell you whether your DOOR is OPEN or CLOSED.

          

With the door sensor installed, the log records in the app will state if the door is OPEN or CLOSED. When the door is CLOSED the sensor will trigger the lock to be locked automatically.  Even when Auto lock is turned OFF on the lock, the sensor will trigger the automatic lock and lock the door.

The door sensor is added to a lock in the lock settings (it is not added to the TTLock app as a device).  It works with all the locks that use the TTLock app (all our locks except for the SDL-G2).

Important: 

You need to have a Wi-Fi Bridge installed with the lock in order to receive notifications to your phone when the door is OPEN or CLOSED. You can set up the TTLock app to send push notifications when the door is OPEN for a certain amount of time.
