I have a door with a screen door in front. What type of lock should I choose?
When selecting a smart door lock for a door with a security screen door, it's crucial to measure the gap between the two doors. This gap will determine which type of lock is most suitable for your specific setup.
- For doors with tight gaps between them, we recommend the Smart Deadbolt - Fingerprint Keyless Entry Fully Automatic Deadbolt Lock (SDL-T1). This lock is designed to fit well in situations where the gap between the two doors is minimal (gap should be more than 23mm).
- Another option to consider is the Super Slim - Fingerprint and Keyless Entry Smart Mortise Lock [35mm wide] (SDL-SS1). With a shorter handle than most locks, this model may be a good fit for doors with slightly larger gaps between them (gap should be more than 52mm).
- If you have a gap of more than 73mm between the door and the screen door, the Smart Compact - Fingerprint Keyless Entry Latch Lock (SDL-H1) or the Smart Medium - Fingerprint and Keyless Entry Mortise Lock (SDL-H2) could also be suitable options.
