Passage mode gives you the flexibility of allowing access to the door at certain times of the day or week. This is useful in situations such as at home when you are having friends over or in the workplace when clients are coming in and out and you want the door to remain unlocked during a particular time period.
The first step is to go to your TTLock application, turn passage mode on and set the time period according to your requirements.
1.1 From the home page options, tap ‘Settings’.
1.2 Tap ‘Passage Mode’ and tap the button in the top right hand corner of the screen to switch passage mode on.
1.3 Enter the day/s and times that you require passage mode to be enabled. Note: if you tap ‘All hours’ this will enable passage mode for the entire day/s selected.
1.4 Tap ‘Save’.
For a door to remain open during passage mode, the door must first be unlocked by a person with a current registered passcode, fingerprint, fob or e-key or by a person using the TTLock application.
For example, if passage mode is enabled from Monday - Friday from 8am - 5pm and you unlock the door using your fingerprint at 9am on Monday for the first time that day, the door will be remain open from 9am until 5pm that day, unless it has been manually locked during that time period (see below).
At any time, you can manually lock the door during passage mode. This will lock the door so that the door cannot be opened from the outside when you pull the handle down. You can do this in a couple of ways. One way of locking the door manually is to press and hold the large padlock icon on the home page of the TTLock application. Another way is to press and hold the # key on the lock.
Important:
Once the door is locked manually, it will need to again be unlocked once by a person with a current registered passcode, fingerprint, fob or e-key or by a person using the TTLock application in order for passage mode to be activated once again.
You Enabled passage mode on your office door lock for the first time.
You must first unlock the door with a valid finger print, passcode, or fob for it to enter into passage mode. During the day you can go in and out without having to unlock the door.
End of the day, you lock the door manually by entering a valid finger print, passcode or fob. This will exit passage mode and the door will be locked.
Next day when you come to work.. You must now unlock the door with a valid finger print, passcode or fob for it to enter passage mode once again.
Use case 2:
You have passage mode Enabled on your office door lock.
The battery died, so you replaced it with a spare battery.
You notice passage mode is not working. Why is this?
- This is the expected behavior.
- The passage mode wasn't working because replacing the battery forced the door to automatically lock, exiting the passage mode.
- But this doesn't mean passage mode is DISABLED. The lock has just exited passage mode.
- You just have to unlock the door with a valid fingerprint, passcode or fob, for the lock to enter into passage mode again.
