What Is an Access Card Encoder and How Does It Work?

An access card encoder is a simple device that allows you to remotely configure access fobs (or cards) for your smart locks. Whether you're managing short-stay rentals, an office space, or a multi-residential property, it gives you the ability to set up and issue access without needing to be at the door.

Plug & Play Setup
  1. Plug & Play Setup
Plug the Card Encoder into your computer using USB. No additional software installation is required- it works through the TTLock web portal.
  2. Connect Your Locks via Gateway
Your smart lock need to be connected to the internet via a Wi-Fi Gateway. This allows real-time syncing of access cards to the lock system.
  3. Issue Cards from Your Computer
Through the TTLock web interface, you can select the lock, define access times (e.g., permanent, temporary, or recurring), and program the card using the encoder.
  4. Tap to Authorise
Place a blank access card on the encoder. The system writes encrypted access data to the card - now it’s ready to unlock your smart lock!
