Why is my SDL-SS1 mechanical keyhole cover coming off the lock?

If the mechanical keyhole cover is pulled in the wrong direction, it may cause the spring inside to come loose. If you feel confident, you can reattach the spring yourself by following these steps. However, if you're unsure or uncomfortable with the process, we recommend either contacting a locksmith for assistance or sending the lock panel back to us for repair.

When you pulled the mechanical keyhole cover, did the spring come off with it? If it doesn't look like in the following picture, you have have damaged it. If so please reach out to us and we will send you a replacement spring.

 
1. Remove the lock from the door working backwards through the Installation Manual
2. Unscrew the backing plate of the external panel




3. Remove the screw from the key cylinder cover



4. Install the spring (as per pictures below) and fix to the key cylinder cover with the screw
5. Reattach the backing plate
