How does the privacy switch work on a Smart Door Lock?

How does the privacy switch work?

Some of our smart door locks come with a 'Privacy Switch'. The Privacy Switch adds a layer of security by restricting access and/or non-admin users. And this functionality varies from model to model.

How does it work when it's turned on?

- If the privacy switch is turned on Only Administrator Passcode, Administrator App and Mechanical Key can unlock the lock from outside.
- If a Non-Admin tries to open the lock, there will be a voice prompt saying ‘Secured lock on’.

How to turn it off?

- When the admin unlocks the door and turns the lever down the Privacy Switch on the Smart Lock will Turn off automatically.
Every time the lever is turned down to unlock the door (either from inside or outside) the Privacy Switch will turn off.
- You can also disable the privacy feature entirely from the TTLock App

SDL-SS1

How does it work when it's turned on?

- If the privacy switch is turned on, this locks the lever mechanism so you cannot turn it up or down. Therefore, no one can unlock the lock or turn the lever from the outside (even if they enter a valid passcode, fingerprint or fob, etc.)

How to turn it off?

- Flip the privacy switch on the interior panel to the off position.
