Why Won't My Smart Lock Complete a Reset?

Why Won't My Smart Lock Complete a Reset?

If your smart lock isn’t responding when you try to reset it, work through the steps below before assuming there is a fault. In many cases, a reset issue can be resolved with a few simple checks.

1. Try fresh batteries first. A reset cycle can require more power than normal operation, so batteries that are still strong enough to operate the lock may not have enough power to complete a reset. Replace them with a full set of new alkaline batteries and try again.

2. Check that you’re using the correct reset method for your model. Reset procedures can vary between models. Always refer to the reset instructions for your specific model in your Installation and User Manual rather than following the procedure for a different lock.

3. Use the correct tool for the reset button. If your lock has a reset pinhole, use a narrow, firm object such as a paperclip to press the reset button. Avoid using the tip of a pen, as it may be too wide to fit correctly into the pinhole and may not reach the button properly.

4. Attempt to resetting multiple times. There have been situations where a factory reset will not work on the first attempt but will work after several attempts. We recommend trying to reset minimum of 5 times.

5. For our SDL and Loqee smart locks using the TTLock app: After pressing and holding the reset button for 5 seconds, if you do not hear the voice prompt “Enter initialisation passcode”, simply enter 000#.
